Haul: Current trends for summer

summer haul
ASOS, EBAY, URBAN OUTFITTERS

We have finally seen the transition from spring to summer arrive, the sun has been beaming and the weather forecast has been displaying the highest degrees this year. I have barely any summer appropriate clothing at present, so I was casually browsing through a few websites and ordered a few bits in aide of creating a more summer suited wardbroad. This summer, printed trousers, harem pants, trousers with generally looser materials are going to be my dominate bottoms. As for tops; smaller, crop styled tops with sleevless arms.

Here are some of the clothes I have ordered. Some of the bits I have purchased are in the sale, therefore are subject to availability, they have a * before the title on the bottom of the image. Instead of merely displaying the items, I will have a small description of the item.

ASOS T-Shirt with Gathered Waist and Contrast Band This top is gorgeous, the black band detail along the neckline makes this top look more edgy and on trend. This would match really well with some cobalt trousers or some black smart chinos/trousers.

ASOS Jumper In Spotted Net I wanted a polka dot style jumper/top for a very long time, so when I spotted this on the ASOS website I had to add it to my shopping basket. The material is very light and lovely for the summer/spring season.

ASOS Tank With Venice Scene I love the negative print on this basic shirt. It makes the top look slightly edgy.

In general I find that ASOS sizes are in comparison to other stores slightly more generous with sizes. My suggestion would be if you are a borderline on sizes e.g. I am size 6/8, I would go for the smaller size. Every top I have ordered seems to be slightly big for me when I order in a size 8. However, make sure you keep in mind what kind of clothing you are ordering e.g If you are top heavy, then perhaps it is better to stick with your standard size in clothing.

Urban Outfitters All Over Skull Tank (Black) This top is so simple and perfect for the summer/spring season. It is something you could throw over some trousers or jeans and it will make your style come across trendy/edgy but cute.

Side Walk Fashion Womens Ladies High Heel Pull Chelsea Ankle Boots (Black) These boots are a dupe for the Topshop heeled chelsea boots. They are perfect! Look exactly like the image shown on the page. Very fashionable and good quality. The delivery is very quick and it is buy it now, so there's so there is no hassling with bidding. Last thing, the price is incredible, Topshop version of these are more than double this price if I remember right.

I hope you like some of the bits i have recently bought and thank you as always for reading.

How to style: Maxi Skirts

Maxi skirts
Now that S/12 collection should be fully released into all high street stores, maxi skirts will be prominent in all the fashion headed stores such as New Look, River Island, ASOS, Next and more. A maxi skirt can be dressed in many ways to create a different look. It is the way you incorporate it into your own personal style. Maxi dresses are well known to be suited for the summer/spring season and very trendy, but maxi skirts are a perfect opportunity to mould the look into how you would create a maxi dress look.

For example:
Vanessa hudgens has quite a Boho edge to her outfit with the floral design to the skirt paired with the cream sheer top.

This is my favorite look, it is very classy, polished and chic look worn by Kate Bosworth. I love the colours and materials.

Nicola Roberts has created more of a indivual, edgier style by choosing to cover her top part of her maxi skirt. The high neck top with the electic design creates fashion headed outfit.

Pixie Lott has opted for more of an gothic look. Nevertheless it is still girly as the maxi skirt material is flowey and has a polka dot design. Her leather jacket and cross designed necklaces empahsise pixies dark look.

These different looks have inspired me to share with you my take on different looks on wearing maxi skirts. Any person with any style can feel confident wearing a maxi skirt and be fashionable.

I am not directly trying to replicate the looks displayed above, I have merely been inspired by them.

Haul: Current trends for spring

- New fashion pieces - Effortless style -
Here are a few things that i have purchased recently from some high streets shops. This is my post winter wardrobe additions. These are probably the last pieces i will buy in regards to winter clothing as a lot of stores have part launched their spring collection 2012.

* Floral Design Cardigan - This cardigan has a bohemian style attached. It would dress up a casual outfit. The colours are very spring 2012 Esq. However just going to state that the material is not that comfortable on the skin, so it you are sensitive to awkward materials i would suggest you do not purchase this cardigan. However, i do not mind it as it looks too nice he he.
* Canvas Bag - I purchased this bag for college. The simple design and the slight reference to the contrast trend that is prevalent at the moment is great as it is less likely to clash or alter my outfit. I prefer my bag for school to be quite simple as i will be seen wearing it everyday and it will have to go with all my outfits.
* Faux Fur Stole (Out of stock online) - Faux fur is really on trend this winter. It makes an outfit look more glamorous. It is definitely a love/hate item.
* Crochet Collar - Peter pan collars are a must have all year round. I purchased a couple as i can wear them multiple times on different outfits and no one will notice. Also, you can wear old tops again and accessories it with a collar.

* The Faux Fur Stole is out of stock online as it went into the sale, however you can find similar styles on ASOS. The floral design cardigan is subject to availability regarding the sizes as it is currently in the sale. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Get the look: Kelly Rowland

Vintage floral designs

This outfit that Kelly Rowland wore to the judges houses is definitely not a fashion mistake. The delicate materials and pretty designs really go well together. The ethnic floral design with the cute, milky mustard coloured pussy bow blouse create a vintage inspired outfit. If you tuck pussy bow blouses into skirts, shorts or trousers, you will see a more trendy and polished look.

I used the H&M Look App on their website (www.hm.com) to put this outfit together because I wanted to see how the cardigan looked on my style of clothing before I decided if I was going to purchase it. The women modelling the clothing was on the App. I would probably wear a shirt or blouse with a simple design rather than the one displayed on this post as the cardigan has a prominent detailed design already. Despite this, I think anyone can pull of this chic look.

All these items should be available in the H&M website www.hm.com.

Some of the items may have been put into the sale (subject to availability). However, I am sure you can find similar styles on the H&M website or from other high street stores such as Topshop, New Look and Warehouse.

Haul: Vanessa Hudgens inspiration

My recent order with H&M (Sale)

Here are a few bits and bobs I have recently ordered from H&M, I should receive it sometime this week. Accessories really do make an outfit more suited for an occasion and less casual. This is why I have recently been purchasing more accessories such as collars, necklaces, and scarfs etc. You can wear them more than once and create new outfits ideas in result of this. H&M have 25% off 1 item (even sale items are eligible in this offer) when you sign up to their newsletter (subject to availability).

Vanessa Hudgens is a great style icon when it comes to being trendy, chic but casual. I have noticed she always stays modern with her style by adding accessories such as necklaces, belts and hats to her outfits.
